Books and the Like – Historical Record plus New Material

Every once in a while when you review expired domains you find something that is just too good to pass up, something that catches your interest, even if you weren’t looking for it. Livroseafins.com is such a prize. With my interest in good writing and intercultural exchange, this is a natural fit to my collection. Why you ask? Because it featured a lot good blogging from teens decade on “Books and the Like,” the English translation of the domain name, and it is from Brazil.

My immediate thought was to bring back, resurrect this content that has gone by the wayside, except to people who could find it in Archive.org. But more than that, I thought it would be good to make it available in English so that people in the US could see the concerns of a certain group of Brazilian writers in the second decade of the 21st century. Beyond that, I think we should have some new content on books and the like too. It seems to me, what a book is has evolved significantly, and perhaps we have passed them as a product made from trees. Perhaps “the like” is the more interesting part of “books and the like” now?

So back here in a while in English, with the original Portuguese available as a translation, with some new content too. If you have a comment while you wait, you can get in touch with us.
